Know The Advantages Of Buying A Computer Exhaust Fan For Cooling.

Computer Exhaust Fan

Heat is the number one computer killer. Dust that normally travels with air collects inside a computer and traps heat in. Heat causes the components of a computer to wear down prematurely and stop working eventually. A computer exhaust fan does the job of expelling hot air from inside the computer to make sure it continues working properly. The computer will commit errors when even just one sensitive component breaks down due to a fan not performing optimally. When one fan stops working altogether, it can cause damage to a component due to overheat and drastically shorten the life span of the computer. Relatively new computers die all the time and require a replacement all because of problems that can be traced back to a malfunctioning, or worse, non-functioning fan.

A personal computer or PC uses three types of fan for cooling purposes. One type serves to remove hot air from inside the PC, another serves to introduce cool air from outside in, and still another directs air to a heat sink, a device that absorbs an explosion of heat, in order to cool a certain component. A computer exhaust fan eliminates heated air much like an industrial or commercial grade exhaust fan would in the kitchen or bath. Its rotating blades and blower wheels create positive pressure to expel hot air, and while it isn’t particularly a cooling fan, it also creates negative pressure to draw cool air in. Modern computers have components that consume more energy and work at faster speeds, so they need to be actively cooled by fans.

New computers normally require five fans or more. A case mount carries air through the front and rear of the casing to cool down surrounding air, such as against the wall, thereby clearing the way out for hot air from inside. It is usually decorative because it is the most visible fan. The CPU and PSU are some of the biggest heat traps inside a computer so CPU and PSU fans are very common. They not only cool the units themselves but also lower the temperature inside the PC. The graphics processing unit and graphics cards did not always require fans but new ones can generate even more heat than the CPU. Chipset fans cool the northbridge of a motherboard's chipset. Other components that require fans include the hard disk, PCI slots, CD and DVD burners.

Computer exhaust fan brands from Antec to Arctic Cooling, Cooler Master, Delta, Enermax, Nexus, Nidec, Noctua, Panasonic, Thermaltake and Zalman offer a huge variety of options plus heat sinks, case insulation, fan controllers, regulators and accessories. Computer fans are commonly square shaped, in sizes of 60, 80, 92 and 120 mm, but round ones are also available. Ones with higher CFM ratings, lower sound ratings and adjustable RPM ratings are preferable. Silent PC cooling fans are popular, with fans that operate quietly being generally favored. Fan components, like motors and bearings, that are rust proof and can function at lower temperatures without producing damaging heat would be ideal.
